A long break...
I have finally found a way to keep updating my old site on the new PCs, not an easy feat at all for someone who has never been that knowledgeable about computers. Putting all of the pending content together and generating pages however is now a lower priority among all the things going on, but the site will be up again.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to keep up with upcoming movies… I’ve already written about Carol and Cate Blanchett’s headscarf scenes, but it looks Sarah Paulson is getting some nice ones.
She’s wearing a nice Kelly here. Sarah Paulson has already been headscarved (Classic-style) in American Horror Story…
… Which would mean she would almost be a Scarf Lady on the site.
Also of notice was the trailer for Joy, which shows Jennifer Lawrence in a Classic headscarf.
I think this is a first for her, but I haven’t had time to check her whole filmography. Looks like we’re in for a nice season, though!
Stay safe, stay covered and enjoy the holidays!

Carol
Anyone remember Far from Heaven, the 2002 Todd Haynes movie with a stunningly beautiful Julianne Moore?
It was one great period piece, made to look like it had been actually made in the 1950s, and Julianne Moore in a Kelly headscarf was a great sight.
Haynes later directed the TV miniseries Mildred Pierce, starring Kate Winslet.
Being another period piece, Kate got to wear a nice Classic. This scene also got Kate her Scarf Lady award on the site.
The latest period piece from Haynes is Carol, a movie based on Patricia Highsmith's novel The Price of Salt, also sometimes titled Salt. It stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. From what I have seen so far, we'll probably see some nice headscarf scenes.
This is a promotional image, showing Cate in a Kelly wrap on a convertible.
Cate in a Kelly again, on the set.
Those images are from a video of the shooting in Cincinnati, which seems tied to the "Christmas Tree shopping scene" seen in this clip.
"Carol" is due out in December 2015. I for one am looking forward to it.

Still missing, apologies, movie sightings.
Hello and once again sorry for my site being offline. I can't really do much but wait for Zymic to finish repairing whatever it's broken, so some updates will have to be done all at once.
Meanwhile, I have seen The Two Faces of January and though Kirsten Dunst only has one headscarf scene, it's simply great.

Kirsten wears her Classic in a very elegant way. There are plenty of closeups of her wrapped head and framed face. What a pity they didn't have a proper scene in Mona Lisa Smile or she would have qualified as a Scarf Lady by now.
In a funnier movie, The Other Woman, there's a brief scene with Leslie Mann wearing a Kelly headscarf.

Yes, it's another Headscarf & Sunglasses scene. It's short but Leslie looks great in her Kelly.
The last scene it's from The Double, a quite bizarre movie based on the Dostoevsky novel. There are a couple of brief scenes of Mia Wasikowska (from Alice in Wonderland) wearing a small Classic headscarf.

Mia's scarf looks quite cute on her and I like the way she has it fluttering around while she's taking some air on the train ride. There is another brief scene later on when she's seen adjusting her hair under the just tied-on scarf while walking. I wish there would be more but it wasn't the case. I think it's a "first wrap" for Mia.
And it's a wrap for this post as well. If you see any movies with good scenes, please drop me a line!

More great tutorials
And here is a new one by Lilly Jarlsson.
Lilly is a freelance writer with a passion for vintage fashion and make-up. In this video she demonstrates:
A front-tied headscarf...
A turban-like wrap...
A Peasant tie...
... And a Classic headscarf, which she advises to tie to the side...
... Like this. She's also seen wearing a Kelly wrap, however she's not shown tying it on.
Lilly's advice is not entirely new, having first been suggested in a tutorial (that I know) by Candice "Superkawaiimama" DeVille.
Julie Bloom's tutorial also suggested that way of tying a Classic in lieu of the usual knot under the chin.
Lilly calls this style "younger and edgier". It certainly suits young actress Dreama Walker (from Gossip Girl) well.

Two great tutorials
The first one is by Julie Bloom, beauty and fashion editor and blogger, who in this video teaches how to tie three headscarf and two headband styles, inspired by Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez’s look.
This is the first headscarf style she demonstrates. Notice that in the video she calls it the “Grace Kelly style”, even though it’s what we would call an off-center Classic or Traditional style. It’s all right, however, because there is absolutely no official nomenclature. I like the fact that although she had the scarf slip from her hair on her first attempt, she didn’t edit it out. All ladies who have ever tied a headscarf know this happens, especially with silk.
The second one she calls the “Hollywood style”, which is what we would call a “Grace Kelly” or “Audrey Hepburn” style. Again, there are no official names for those styles.
The last one is commonly known as a “low bun wrap” and is a modern and trendy style
This is the style popularized by Jennifer Lopez in numerous occasions…
… Although other celebrities like Stana Katic have worn it to great effect.
The second video tutorial is by Lilith Moon, model and blogger. Her tutorials are centered around hair styles and care.
In her video Lilith demonstrates 3 headscarf styles, one neck scarf style and a lot of stylish headbands.
The first headscarf she demonstrates is what she calls a “modern turban bow”. It’s an elegant take on the front-tied wrap.
The second one is meant to be another version to the turban bow, it looks like a rear tie or a side tie, but it’s tied with the same beautiful bow knot as the first one.
The third one is called an “exotic turban” and is another elegant take on the front-tied headscarf.
It’s amazing how much of a difference a simple knot and its position mean!
Apart from the headscarf tutorials, I can only recommend those blogs and YouTube channels to all ladies around here, who will undoubtedly find the style and fashion tips useful and interesting.
